Ode to Love

In lieu of the passing of my Best Friends grandaddy, I had to find a way to honor him and just express myself. So I figured what better place than my blog? If you have ever loved and lost then I am sure you can understand what I am feeling. I hope this inspires you to love harder and think more about how your actions reflect your soul and the matters of your heart.

I held your hand and you held mine back because you were able to love beyond blood. You took on a role that no other had filled and that was to be my grandaddy. We shared laughs, meals, holidays, and vacations, all alike and if I wasn't there I loved to hear you say over the phone "Well where are ye?"

Words can not fully express what you mean to me but there are some things that I will cherish for a lifetime. Because of you, I know that helping people is not about them but rather fulfilling your own desire to be there for others. Less words are more powerful and it is ok to quite literally think before you speak, because your response was often times heavily anticipated! And people argue and fuss but love still prevails if you are willing to be humble. These are just a few of the trinkets you left in my heart but my short time with you will stick with me for a lifetime!

Grandaddy, I will miss you dearly but I know that you have been freed from the burdens of your flesh and I can see you right now in heaven with the main carpenter himself building up the kingdom!

I love you grandaddy and I am forever grateful for the amazing blessing and example that was your life!

Thank you
